Contest Day
- If you are competing as a Pair or Team, please RSVP by Friday night with the first & last names of your teammate(s). This will facilitate our posting of results by Saturday night.
- Have the camera set up in landscape (horizontal) format.
- The camera should be at least 18-24 inches above the table.
- The camera should be positioned (horizontally) 3-4 feet away from the puzzling surface.
- Set the unopened puzzle package on the table, in clear view of the camera.
- To see what we're seeing, test your camera (within the Zoom app) to make sure its angle will allow us to see the entire puzzle surface as you are completing it.
- We recommend you have a timer handy, but it doesn't need to be visible to the camera. Cell phone timers are allowed.
If you cannot attend the scheduled event, you can still compete and be eligible for prizes. Here's how:
- Click on the registration link and purchase the desired contest(s).
- Enter a note during the checkout process to let us know this will be an offline entry. Or you may email us at speedpuzzling@gmail.com to let us know.
- Set up your camera and puzzling surface as described above.
- The video must be recorded full-length (not time-lapse).
- Start the video
- Show the unopened shipping package
- Remove all outer packaging (including shrink wrap). You may study the image for 15-30 seconds.
- Show the timer and start it
- Open the puzzle box and complete the puzzle
- Stop the timer
- Show the completion time on camera
- Stop the video
- Send your completion time to Jonathan at speedpuzzling@gmail.com.
